Ancestors #9 Bernardino Trejo y Ma Josefa Gomes

Bernardino Trejo & Maria Josefa Gomes are my 5th great grandparents.  They lived in the tail end of colonial Mexico.  I estimate that it has been nearly one hundred-fifty years since these two names have been spoken together.  The have died the three deaths.  Its doubtful they are resting in a marked grave.  Any memories of them have dissipated into the air like smoke.  I don't know if they were creative, thoughtful, talkative, kind and/or neurotic, but I do know who they called family.  I know who they called mijo, mama, and comadre.  And that, brings me a great deal of joy.

Bernardino Trejo & Maria Josefa Gomes were married 1779 in the San Bartolome Parish in Rincon de Tamayo - not too far from Tarimoro.  He was listed as a Mestizo from Rancho de Tlaliscoya.  She was a mestiza, from neighboring Rancho de Guadalupe.  Together, they had at least seven kids, many of whom made it into adulthood.  From what I could find, they were all born in Taliscoya, a rancho roughly 20KM away from both Tarimoro and Rincon de Tamayo.  The parish in Rincon de Tamayo was a satellite parish of Celaya.

I have found only one record for Bernardino Trejo were he is the primary on the record.  His baptism record eludes me - even though I have found the baptism records of many of his siblings.   I also have not been able to find any records for Maria Josefa. I fortunately have been able to track down their marriage record.
